# Set a default search engine

You can enter a query in the browser's address bar and get results in your favorite search engine. To do this, specify it as the default search engine in your browser.

{% cut "**On desktop**" %}

1. Open your browser settings.

2. Enter "Search engine" in the settings search bar and open the parameter settings.

3. Select the search engine you need.

4. If it's not listed, enter the search engine manually. To do this, fill in the fields:

   * **Name**: Enter the name of the search engine (for example, Yandex).

   * **Key**: Enter the address of the search engine (for example, `yandex.com`).

   * **Link with the %s parameter instead of a query** (for example, `https://yandex.com/search/?q=%s`).
