# Downloading files



## Download a file {#how}

Yandex Browser for Mobile [checks](https://yandex.uz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/security/file-checking.md) archives and executable files for viruses and adware while they're downloading.

1. Follow the link to download the file.

1. Tap **Yes**.


You can monitor the file download progress in the Android notification bar (to open the bar, swipe down from the top of your tablet screen). When the download is complete, a message appears in the notification bar.

If you don't want to see such messages in the notification bar, open the settings and disable **File download confirmation** under **More settings**.

## Stop, resume, or cancel the download {#downloading}

1. Open the Android notification bar (swipe down from the top of your tablet screen).

1. Find the name of the file being downloaded and tap **Stop** and then **Continue** or **Cancel**.





## How do I open a downloaded file? {#open}


#### **In the notification bar**

1. Open the Android notification bar (swipe down from the top of your tablet screen).

1. Tap the file name.

1. Select the app to open the file with if you haven't assigned a default app for this file type.

When the file opens, the download notification won't be shown in the notification bar.


#### **In downloads**

1. Tap ![](../_assets/settings-menu-icon.png =22x) → **Downloads**. A list of downloaded files opens in the Android download manager.

1. Tap the file name.

1. Select the app to open the file with if you haven't assigned a default app for this file type.





## View downloads {#list}

## Delete downloaded files {#delete}

1. Select a file and delete it using the download manager.




## Clear all downloads {#delete-all}

To delete all downloaded files:

1. Make sure **Downloads** is turned on.

1. Disable all the other options (if you only want to clear your downloads).

   Tap **Clear data**.

1. Confirm deletion.



## Problems with downloading {#problems}

To resume the download:

1. Open the Android notification bar (swipe down from the top of your tablet screen).

1. Find the name of the file being downloaded and tap **Continue** or **Cancel**.

If the download doesn't resume, try downloading the file again.

The download may also be affected by the antivirus that's installed on your tablet. Temporarily disable it and download the file again.
